Who we are
InterviewIQ is provided by Interview iq. Interview iq is the data controller for personal data processed through InterviewIQ, meaning we decide how and why it is used.
What we collect
Account data (name, email address, sign-in credentials); interview data (audio of your answers, transcripts, scores and feedback, your chosen company and role); optional saved video (only if you are signed in and choose to save it); subscription status; support messages you send us; and technical data (IP address, device and browser information, basic usage logs). Your video otherwise stays in your browser and is never uploaded.
How we use it
To create and manage your account; to provide transcripts, scores and feedback; to enforce plan limits and manage your subscription; to keep the service secure and prevent fraud; to answer support requests; and to improve the service. We never use your recordings or transcripts to train AI models without your explicit permission.
Legal basis
Performance of our contract with you (providing the service and your account); your consent (recording and analysing your answers, saving video — given before each recording and withdrawable at any time); our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, improving the service); and legal obligations (tax and accounting records).
Fair assessment
Scores are based solely on what you say. We do not analyse appearance, facial expressions, accent, perceived emotion or protected characteristics.
Who we share it with
Service providers who host and run the service for us (cloud hosting, database and storage, and AI providers that transcribe and assess answers); Paddle, our Merchant of Record, for the sale of the product, subscription management, payments, tax compliance and invoicing; professional advisers (legal, accounting); and authorities where required by law. We do not sell your personal data.
International transfers
Some providers may process data outside the UK/EEA. Where they do, we rely on adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses to protect it.
Retention
Saved videos are deleted automatically after 7 days, or immediately when you delete the interview. Saved interviews and account data are kept while your account is active and deleted when you delete them or close your account. Billing records are kept as long as required by law. Data no longer needed is deleted or anonymised.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, private access-controlled storage so only you can see your interviews and videos, and restricted staff access.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies and local storage needed to keep you signed in and to keep your in-progress interview. We do not use advertising cookies.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can request access to, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your data, object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time. Contact us via the contact page and we will respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
